The End.

As I write this blog post, I'm not sure where to begin, what to say, and, most importantly, how to say goodbye to this school year. As I look back on all that has happened this school year, from the first quarter to the present, I become emotional. I must say that we have indeed come to an end. This is it. This is my last year as an SSC student. And, I hate to admit it, but I'm getting emotional because it dawned to me that it's finally over. This chapter in my life has come to a end. Being an SSC student is truly a journey of a lifetime for me, since I find this program to be rather challenging due to the amount of tasks and obligations. As I've entered this program, I've come to learn that nothing is truly simple, but being an SSC student is also an awesome experienced because you will be challenged to bring the best version of yourself. Nonetheless, I believe that the most important part about this program for me is that it encouraged me to push myself and show my best side. Additionally, I am grateful for having met so many new individuals during this era of my life. That is the nicest part as well. Before I wrap it up, let's take a one more look of my journey.
Just so you know, we're the batch that was unable to march due to the pandemic, and we recently had our first actually face-to-face experience when we were in 9th grade. Furthermore, it still surprises me that we are graduating from junior high already. For me, this school year—which is now our final year as SSC students—has been an absolute roller coaster.

Let's go back to the first quarter of the 10th grade. I still have trouble adjusting to the first quarter because I've met a new group of people that I'm not connected to yet. Since all of my close pals were in the other part, I'm finding it extremely challenging. Therefore, I'm not sure where I should go. But as time went on, I learned to let things happen as they come and to accept the possibility that this is all part of God's plan for me to become independent and learn how to be on my own. I found it difficult at first, but I managed to get through it. This quarter has taught me how to be strong and take risks. And now that we've arrived in the last quarter, I've learnt a lot more, which I'll bring to my next journey.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone I have encountered over my junior high school years. From all of my teachers in the past and now. Especially to my 10-Maxwell adviser, Ma'am Remedios Martinez. She serves as both our second mother and adviser. I would like to thank her for everything that she did for us, including her love, support, and efforts. You are someone I will always remember, ma'am Rems. The idea that we won't be able to hear your jokes and "every morning sermons" makes me emotional. I hoped the next batch of 10-Maxwell would take care of you. Thank you, ma'am Rems! I'll see you around!
Also, I want to thanked all of my subject teachers throughout this journey. All of the lessons that you've thought us, we will cherish it, we will bring it with us. We've had a great time with you all, ma'ams and sir. If there would be a time where I will encounter one of you, I will assure you that I will smile and greet you happily. So, thank you to all of you ma'am and sir. I'll see you around!

Next, I'd like to tell my friends that "we did it!". Look at us now—we made it through all of the sleepless nights, practice sessions on the weekends, and all of the rants. I just wanted to say thank you for being my comfort during this school year. I want to let you know that you may always come to me whenever you're feeling low, even though our busy schedules in senior high may prevent us from meeting again. I will definitely miss our endless laughter until it's almost impossible for us to breathe. You should all know that you bring color into my dull world. Thank you for making me feel peace and comfort amidst to the challenges we face everyday.

And, to Maxwell, I had a great time with all of you. I may never have said this in person but, thank you for being part of my journey and for letting me be part of yours. I will cherish all of the memories that we've made. I am sure that we won't be able to be in the same class again but, I am rooting for all of your success. Good luck on your next journey, 10-Maxwell of batch 2023-2024.

To wrap it up, I will cherish all of the memories and lessons that I've had as this school year comes to an end. This is one of the most memorable part of my life. All of this would turn into stories one day so, as we still have more weeks, let's enjoy it while it last.

The End.

To Our Mothers

Every day, "Mommy" is always the word that leaves my mouth. She has grown up with me, having prepared my meals, got me ready for school every morning, and read me stories so I could fall asleep. In short, my mother was the first person to show what love was to me. As a mother's day present, this post is just a simple message for our mothers.

Do you believe in the saying "Sila ang ating ilaw ng tahanan"? For me, I agree with this statement because our mothers are the ones who have given us light throughout our lives, ever since they brought us here. A mother's love is eternal; nothing can ever separate it from us because it began the moment we were born. We are taken care of by them, and I think that no mother can be against her children because we are a part of them and we are part of their lives. We are celebrating every mother out there on this Mother's Day. We appreciate everything you've all given up and the effort you've all made to look after us. I would especially like to thank my mother for being the most amazing mother there is. I would like to express my gratitude to you, mom, for taking care of me. Being a daughter of yours is truly an honor, as your love is truly special.

In overall, I want to share this message to express my gratitude to all mothers everywhere. We appreciate your strength and sacrifices. We are aware that raising a child can be hard, however  all of you did it.  All I can say is that our mothers deserve everything in life—they deserve complete happiness for all that they have given up to care for us.  In the end, our mothers will always be the people we ought to tell when anything good or tragic happens in our lives. Our mother will always be the one to always have our back. They are our forever love.

Glimpse of Tomorrow

Since we were young, we've had a lot of dreams, which we want to eventually achieve. I wonder what lies ahead for me? Would I be able to achieve my dreams after thirty years? Will I be successful become a doctor? As I questioned these to myself, the more terrified I am to think of who I'll be in thirty years .

As a child, I experienced a lot of dreams, and I'm aware that everyone experiences something similar at some point in their lives. I was wrong to think that everything in the world is happy, but as I grew older, I realized that not everything in the world is happy. It's just sad to think that as we grow older we are getting closer to seeing the real form of the world. Not everyone experiences happiness, and not everyone experiences sadness either. It just depends on how we view the world from our own perspective. I had a lot of dreams as a child that I still have today. Among them were dreams of growing up to be a doctor and of having a happy life. In the upcoming years, I want to achieve many of my dreams. I would like to follow this road even though I know it will be difficult. I want to achieve the dream that my little self had.

At thirty, I am aware that my studies is finished. However, depending on my situation or probably I'm still studying because as I've mentioned, I still have a long way to go until I become a doctor. Because I know that my studies take up all of my time, I find myself wondering if I could possibly have a family of my own at this age. I also want to travel to the places I've always wanted to see. I want to take my mother and father to different places and fulfill their wishes . I want them to feel the same way that they did for me, so that even in this way I can express my gratitude for their dedication and sacrifices.

Additionally, I can see myself continuing to put in a lot of effort to reach all of my goals. As I work to fulfill my endless aspirations, I see myself staying strong amidst to the challenges that I'll encounter.

To keep myself motivated to pursue my dreams, I constantly remind myself of what I want to achieve. My future self needs to know that she shouldn't give up on herself and to have faith in God.  I sincerely hope that the theories about time travel is true so that I can I would be able to travel forward in time and see many versions of myself over the next years. I want to know is I'm doing fine, so if I meet them, I'll approach them to give them and give them a big hug and say that, "You finally did it, I'm so proud of you". It was clear to me that the journey would be difficult, and thinking about it made me anxious. Though, even if I have to travel a bumpy road, I will carefully plan my future so that it I would be able to achieve my success. So for now, all I can tell  to myself is, "Malayo ka pa pero malayo ka na”.

It Begins With Us

One quote by Mahatma Gandhi that has lingered in the back of my head is, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." I have made decisions throughout the years that I was afraid to take because I understood that doing so would lead me to new changes. For someone like myself who struggles to leave her comfort zone, I find it extremely difficult to change. Change is difficult because it occurs gradually and comes with risks, difficulties and judgment. However, once you have come to accept change and step outside of your comfort zone, you will be reminded that it is an important part of our personal development. Everyone wants to see the world change, but we're don't know where to begin.

Change is never easy, as everyone knows—if it were, everyone would make it. However, despite the difficulty it is, it is also important. Sometimes, we forget that we have to change ourselves before we can change others, even if our dreams involve changing the world. That is where it's supposed to start. It's important to have trust in ourselves. Whether the world follows up or not, we know deep down that we made the risk, crossed the distance, and arrived at where we were going.

Furthermore, we are all aware that fear is what prevents us from making a change. Since it feels like it reveals ourselves, the initial step is the most difficult and frightening part of the process. However, the more we look at it, the more we see that change also creates huge opportunities and freedom.

If we start with ourselves, we may bring change and improve the world. Being able to improve myself will allow me to contribute back more to my loved ones and community. I might be able to have an impact on the world by starting a change and bringing beneficial changes into my life.

A Day To Remember

Every April 9th, Araw ng Kagitingan, also called the Day of Valor, is an important day celebrated by Filipinos. This day is particularly significant because it remembers the courage and determination of those who battled for freedom and democracy against the cruel rulers of imperialism, as well as the heroism and sacrifices made by Filipino soldiers during World War II.

The Philippines' involvement with the Second World War has been devastating, as the country was turned into a battleground and endured years of Japanese invasion. In particular, Araw ng Kagitingan honors the heroic stand taken by Filipinos, particularly the soldiers who battled fight for their freedom. These people showed incredible bravery and resilience in the face of suffering despite being heavily outnumbered and without resources.

Filipinos from throughout the country unite on this day to pay tribute to their fallen heroes. Wreaths are laid, memorial services are conducted, and stories of courage are shared. It is a moment for reflection, appreciation, and remembering as Filipinos honor the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom.

In conclusion, Filipinos have a particular place in their hearts for Araw ng Kagitingan because it serves as a reminder of the bravery and patriotism of our ancestors who battled for freedom and democracy. This day honors the strength and determination of those who bravely fought during the most horrific periods in Philippine history. Let's aim to improve as citizens of our nation on this Araw ng Kagitingan, so that our ancestors won't regret fighting for us.

My CBR Adventures

I recall Ma'am Evelyn grouping us into groups of five, all of whom lived in the same barangay. It's all because she wants us to start a community-based project. Fortunately, our theme is our municipality's emergency response and disaster-preparedness. We carry out our research in San Julian, Bantay, Ilocos Sur, which is my own barangay. All of my members, including myself, handled our CBR properly, so we were able to call it a success. We worked hard in our project not only for the grades, but also because we enjoyed doing it.

We first gathered to plan our research. We all came together for a meeting to discuss the topic and to share ideas and plans. Overall, my members and I were on the same page, and we were able to come up with a successful plan. We talk about what we're going to do, who we're going to interview, which barangay we'll use, and how we're going to share each part of our research study.

The following day, after our planning, we decided to begin our research by obtaining information in the mentioned barangay. After acquiring the necessary data, we interviewed a barangay official in our barangay about our assigned topic. We asked a few questions that would be useful in our topic.

To sum up, it was such an amazing experience that we did this kind of activity. Although our schedule is hectic, we still managed to do a good research project. I just want to thanked my groupmates- Loren, Ace, Angelo, and Gianna, my "BANTAY GROUP", because they are my accomplice in this project. We did our own parts in this study and we help each other in order to make this a success study. I've appreciate all of your efforts and dedication. Also, to ma'am Evelyn, I thanked you ma'am for letting us experienced this kind of activity. All I can say is that I've gained another knowledge again in making this community-based project.

Goodbye, Third Quarter!

"Sure na ba, patapos na?". This question came to mind when I realized that the third quarter had come to an end and there was only one more quarter till the school year 2023-2024 has come to an end Since the third quarter is coming to an end, I want to talk about all I've discovered and gone through recently.

To begin, in this ICT subject, we explored HTML Frame tags and Table tags. We talked about the topics around this, and through doing our hands-on work, we learnt how to use this. This lesson deepens our understanding of other HTML elements. Furthermore, I thought it was enjoyable to learn more about this. It broadens my understanding of the different aspects of HTML

Next, I want to discuss what I've learnt about myself this quarter. I've realized that I'm expressing myself freely this quarter. I can say that I am growing this quarter, and I am showing things that I haven't been able to show in the previous years when the pandemic began. Having regained my confidence after all the years I wasted, I feel happy of myself. I hope to be able to keep this side of myself while still continuing to grow in order to present the very best version of myself.

To sum up, I will say that the third quarter is a roller coaster of emotions. I experienced tiredness, nervousness, stress, and most importantly, happiness. I am grateful that I have come this far. Thank you for all of the bad and happy memories you have given, third quarter! Since this quarter is the most unforgettable for me, I would never forget this. This is all about you, Third Quarter.

ISNHS High School Day 2024: The Best of the Bests

"The Best High School Day Ever!"I agree that it was the best high school day ever. I would trade everything for the opportunity to relive all of the enjoyable activities and joyful memories. On March 9, we celebrate Ilocos Sur National High School's High School Day. We participated in a variety of activities, including the field demo, parade, and my personal favorite, the concert. Who would have thought you could experience all of this in just one day? And because it was such an incredible event, I'm happy I was able to be a part of it. Now, let me tell you about my unforgettable moments from our High School Day.

First and foremost, at 7:30 a.m., we began High School Day with a big march around our city in which every student at ISNHS participated . Each student was present to represent their sections and grade level. Our adviser, Ma'am Remy, was also there to look for us, and we are grateful because we feel her support. It was kind of exhausting, but also enjoyable because it was my first time doing this because since the pandemic occurred, we were prohibited to do this. It was wonderful to participate in a parade showing off our school.

After the parade, we took a break for thirty minutes before moving on to our next activity, the field demo. I clearly recall waking up at four in the morning to get ready for our high school day, especially for this field demonstration when there is a dance festival competition for every grade level. We gave a performance in our field, and even though it was a sunny, extremely hot day, we managed to provide a good performance. Sadly, the grade 10 girls placed third while the grade 10 boys won. Nonetheless, we did not let it bother us because we know we did our best and put all of our effort into our performance.

After our field demo, we had our concert, which is my most memorable experience because I was part of the band that performed at the event. Since this was my first time playing in front of a crowd, I was first kind of nervous. I still recall grabbing the microphone with trembling hands. But when my 10-Maxwell supported me, especially my close friends, I was able to get through it. I'm thankful that they supported us by being there. I also want to thank Ma'am Gladys, our MAPEH instructor, for giving us the chance to participate in this kind of event.

Also, I am grateful to my band members Zarah, Oien, Xian, Jarina, Jhikein, Ken, Keneth, and Jedrick which we called the Maxconi Band, for our outstanding performance. This performance is enjoyable; after singing our lungs out, we no longer have a voice while jamming along with the numerous songs that were sung. It was truly great, and I hope we can do this again for the  next school year.

Overall, I must say that this was the best high school day I've ever had. The enjoyable things we engaged in were incredible. I'm glad I was able to take shots since I now have a lot of fun memories that I will cherish. Furthermore, I have absolutely no doubts that this was the most wonderful High School Day ever. I'd want to thank ISNHS for giving me the opportunity to experience what High School Day is genuinely like.

Babae Ka, Hindi Babae Lang!

"Hindi kami basta-basta babae lang, babae kami" With this quote, it has a deep meaning to every women that no one can ever understand. Back then, they always portray women as just "pang-bahay" and "walang silbi", they deprived the rights of all women. We don't have the rights to choose, to vote, and to do things we want because we're a woman- not a man. We cannot deny that man were more privilege than women because they are allowed to go out, to vote, and to have education. But now, things have already changed because women are now not afraid to speak up for themselves. We have our own voice, we won't let others dictate us, we won't let anyone to control our rights because we are WOMEN.

This month is National Women's Month, which takes place every March and is dedicated to remembering and celebrating women's achievements, contributions, and courage throughout history. This month-long celebration offers a chance to acknowledge the continued issues and challenges encountered by women worldwide as well as to consider the advancements made in the direction of gender equality. It serves as a timely reminder of how critical it is to advance women's rights across society, give them more voice, and empower them.

As we talk about women empowerment, do you have someone in your mind? Well for me I have a lot of persons in my mind. These women are my inspiration because they show what a woman can do, their bravery, leadership, and the way they protect the rights of all women.

First, she was one of the well-known female icon of our time, the one and only Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago. I am amazed of her because she was one of the known empowered women throughout the country. Late Senator Santiago has shown that women are capable of making change. She has proven to everyone that a woman can do anything.

Next, do you have any idea who this is? "Kulay Rosas Ang Bukas", it's the one and only former Vice President Leni Robredo. She was truly an amazing leader in our time. Imagine being the only woman who run a candidacy for the position of President in 2022. It was inspiring, I am reminiscing the time when I was truly rooting for her and I did not even regret that. Even though she did not win the election, I truly believe that she was indeed the truly definition of "The Last Man Standing is a Woman".

Lastly, of course I won't ever forget the strongest woman I've ever known and that is my mother. The one who bring me into this life, who takes care of me, provide all of my needs. The most inspiring woman in my life is my mom because she is the one who taught me to be strong, to stand up for myself, and the one to reminds me everyday that I am special. She is my definition of strength, hope, and inspiration.

Now that I've come to end this, may we all remind to honor all women. Let's give them a round of applause because they've come this far. From being an unimportant people in the society and turns to be the most important in our society. I am grateful that women have now the freedom to act in our society, they are not treated as a hidden shadow anymore because they-we learned to speak up for ourselves and that's what makes us a woman. Always remember, HINDI KA BASTA-BASTA BABAE LANG, BABAE KA!

ESTUDYANTEprenuer: A Day at the TLE Booth

The colorful exhibit at the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) booth caught my attention as I made my way through the crowded path of the school's yearly booth. I walked over, eager to explore and find out more about what was actually being taught, fascinated by the variety of projects and activities on the TLE booth.

I was welcomed to the booth by passionate teachers and students who excitedly went over each exhibit and led us through the booth's exploration. The officers of the TLE Club were present to provide us with guidance and a thorough review of the program's content. As I looked around the booth, I got excited to see so many entertaining activities.

The experience of seeing the teachers and students sell delicious food was one of the enjoyable activities of my visit. Given that cooking is a component of TLE, it stands to reason that the students would sell a lot of food. They sell a wide range of Chips, Mais con yelo, Lumpia, Miki, Pipian, and many more.
After the food area, I looked into other parts of TLE, such as technology. For example, there was a task where you could use the laptops in the booth to control and play games. Printing, film viewing, laminating, and basic repair services are also available. With teachers presenting their work and outlining the ideas behind them, each area was carefully set up. Their engagement with useful skills was motivating.

In conclusion, I had a great time trying out all the fun activities that the TLE program has to offer during my visit to the TLE booth. It was quite enjoyable since I learned a lot about the TLE program as I explored the various areas of the booth.

The End.

As I write this blog post, I'm not sure where to begin, what to say, and, most importantly, how to say goodbye to this school ...
