Philippines, A Resilient Country: We are Resilient, We are Filipinos

     The Philippines has been known for being a resilient nation. People from the Philippines are recognized for being resilient survivors who fight courageously and bravely when their at risk. After all  of the situations that we have encountered in life, we are recognized for being fast adaptable people. Despite difficulties, we were able to rise above them, and we have become ready to take on anything that comes our way. Resilience is one of the most remarkable characteristics of Filipinos.

    According to the article entitled "Rebuilding Different Resilience in the Philippines", by Ms. Kanni Wignaraja and Mr. Selva Ramachandran(2022), the Philippines is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate-related disasters. Each year, this archipelagic country experiences an average of 21 tropical cyclones with varying degrees of strength. We encounter a lot of disasters every years but we won't let that affect us to surrender. Due to the nature of Filipinos, we will actually become stronger in any situation we faced. I really believe that everyone who is Filipino possesses the quality of being resilient since it is written in our system. Due to the fact that we Filipino are adaptable in any circumstances. we simply put up with whatever challenges life throws at us, but we never give up hope because we know we were be able to conquer them.

    We Filipinos are resilient and strong fighters because it is a linked part of our culture. We have this quality since we are aware that it will make us more prepared for whatever circumstances we may encounter. Because, Filipinos are brave people, the Philippines is a country full of resilient individuals, and because of this, it will lead us to a more resilient country, with a resilient people.

The Green Defenders: Engaging in Environmental Activities for a Safer Environment

    The environment plays a important role in our life. Environment is part of our life. To live a relaxing and healthy life, a clean environment is important. The environment is the natural settings that enable life on Planet Earth to grow and develop. It encourages natural development and growth of humans, animals, and other living things. However, our environment is currently being harmed as a result of our actions, us humans. Our continuous actions and decisions have a negative impact on the environment, creating pollution, global warming, deforestation, and overfishing, all of which lead to the breakdown of our environment. In order to help build back our healthy environment, we should engage in active participation and know what has been happening in our surroundings.

   Participating in any environmental activity is a big help to start building back to its healthy figure like helping to pick up trashes that you can see around whenever you're walking and going to another place. By this, we can lessen the trash in our community and put them in their proper places. 

    This photo shows myself and friends clearing up trash along the beach. By doing this, we were able to reduce the amount of waste that would otherwise end up in the water.

    As you can see in the image, it's me and my peers picking up trash in our school and putting it in its proper area. We were able to contribute to the reducing of environmental problems such as waste pollution, which is still on increasing levels.

    Here's a photo of me and my friends planting plants in my friend's backyard. Plants are necessary for all life on Earth to exist. They are significant because plants take carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and produce oxygen. 

   As a grade 10 student, we were able to show the value of active engagement in environmental activities that can help to develop a healthy and safe environment for everyone in our photo blog post.

Hear Us Out, Mr. President

 Dear Mr. President, Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

    I am writing to you for the behalf of my fellowmen Filipinos. Our country has been always known to be at the bottom and it's still doesn't have a great process. The Filipinos today are struggling because of the continuous inflation that has been happening in our economy. Because of this, Filipinos are struggling to improve their quality of life because inflation is still happening.

    According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), inflation in September 2023 increased to 6.1 percent, up from 5.3 percent in August. This brings the year-to-date inflation to 6.6 percent. Starting with food prices which is rising the most. Some products increase and also like the electricity bill and water bills. Inflation is still increasing wherein Filipinos will struggle due to the continuous increase of the product prices in the market that lead Filipinos. Additionally, we are also lack of gas and oil, therefore we buy these materials in other country which is so expensive . The Philippines is concerned about rising inflation rates because it will affect everyone's purchasing power more than it has done so far.

    

    As a leader of our country, we are encouraging you to take this action since you have the power to solve this. We ask that you will use your power and resources so that we will overcome this situation. You should show your ability to improve our nation and make it deserving in the eyes of the Filipino people since the majority of them chose to vote for you.

Get to Know Me

    First, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Mariecar Sumay and I am 14 years of age. I live in San Julian, West, Bantay, Ilocos Sur. I wrote this blog to describe myself. If you will ask what best describes me, I would say that the best that describes me is the word compassionate. If you want to know why? Here are the reasons that you should know.  

    Well I describe myself as being compassionate due to the fact that I know myself as a kind, empathetic, and concerned for people's well being. I describe myself as being compassionate because whenever  I saw someone get hurt or having a problems I feel like there's something inside me and telling me that I should assist and comfort this person to help him\her to get through their situation. Also, I am also pertaining to everyone, not only to those people that are close to me but also to those people in the whole world even though they're not close to me. Due to the fact that i feel the urge inside me that I should help them and take actions so that I can help them. Then, I will now help them to get through their problems by showing my help, love, and support.

    By being compassionate, I am able to assist them, wherein I can show the real me even though they wouldn't ask for it. I would always make sure that I will always be there with them through ups and down, not letting them carry their own problems because I am that kind of person. Due to the fact that I never leave their side whenever they need me or not. That's the reason why I describe myself as being compassionate because I have care for everyone in this world.

Teacher's Month Celebration: Honouring Our Gurus

       This month is National Teacher's Day. We may question the significance of this. However, it is a very important day for all the teachers and also students. As we celebrate teacher's day, we honor all of the teachers who devote the majority of their time for us in order to learn.

    Teachers have an impact on the lives of students. They create societies of responsible and decent citizens. Children first learned at home, but their teacher also taught them the most significant and lasting lessons that they will bring and cherish for the rest of their lives. If one finds a good guide in a teacher and follows their guidance, one is sure to succeed in life.

    As we all know, teaching requires a lot of time sacrifices and is therefore a difficult profession. I am thankful for the teachers that put their passion into their work and thought us beautiful things, not just about the subjects they were teaching us about but also about the moral lessons. Teachers are incredibly helpful to us. We students can explore and broaden our interests and ideas while still receiving education from them. They stand up for their learners, use all they have at their power to make the lessons they teach informative and worth learning for us. Where and when they can, they do their best to encourage and support us. They want the best for their students, their classroom, their children, and their surroundings as they are leaders and role model in the community.

    They help us to be in our position both now and in the future so we must be grateful to them. Because we would unable to express, transmit, and preserve our knowledge and ideas with our teachers, therefore, future generations would not be able to benefit from our excellence. No one can give us the power of education, and a world without it would not advance to better things. Because of the teachers excellent teaching and assistance in helping us improve, we should thank them.
